We have talked recently about the importance of web loading speed and how this could affect your ranking and conversions. Getting things fast is very important and not also in the WWW world. That’s why going forward we are going to highlight tools and applications that will help you to get all the things that you are looking for in the easiest and shortest period of time.Today we are going to talk about information thanks to an amazing application: WP Social Reader.
It is believed that Sir Francis Bacon wrote one of the most famous philosophical quotes of all ages: Scientia potentia est, which means “Knowledge is power”. If you are on top of what is happening you will be more likely to succeed in the challenges that life bring to your door step. Today we have many different sources to get information, so many that the noise around sometimes makes difficult to get what you really want. And that’s where Social Reader comes into place.
WP Social Reader is a free Facebook application, meaning that you need a Facebook profile (and a bunch of friends) in order to be able to get some value here. But who is not on Facebook nowadays? It has been developed by the Washington Post but it shares the same logic that articulates the whole Facebook business. It is likely that if you are a friend of someone is because you share some values, interests or hobbies with that person. Therefore if one of you friends is reading an article there are chances that you will be also interested in that content. What the application does is highlight in your Newsfeed that “X amount of friend/s has/have read this article.” This way is much easier to filter all the information that is available out there.
We know what you are thinking at the moment. What if my friends do not read the Washington Post? There is a good answer to that question. The application comes with a group of news sites partners that make the whole experience more complete and plural. We are talking about sites like Reuters or Mashable. The end result is that you get your own personal newspaper tailored to your interest and from different sources. You must say that it is still too US focus and probably you are right. But still, we are talking about some of the most important news sites of the world and information that everybody should read, at least to compare it with the information displayed in your local newspapers. Hopefully this will help you to get all the information you are looking for in an easier, faster and, why not, more social way.
